Miranda Lambert Is Sassy & Sentimental At ACMs

by Tracy Dye

The 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards may have gleaned a Guinness World record for "most attended live awards show," but Miranda Lambert proved that she can command the stage in any venue, no matter how big the audience. During Lambert's ACM Awards performance of "Mama's Broken Heart" and "Red Wagon," she was all sass. Rocking red lipstick, a corset dress, and a playfully tousled coif, Lambert did a perfect job embodying the mischievousness that made the aforementioned songs and other favorites like "Gun Powder and Lead" (that one is my personal favorite and go-to karaoke track) such exquisite ear candy.

But as fiery as Lambert was throughout her performance, she was equally humble and heart-warming when receiving her Milestone Award. The acceptance of her award happened literally right after her show-stopping performance, and just as soon as Lambert had finished showcasing herself as quite the formidable spitfire, she softened immediately with a tearful and heartwarming speech. "I just want to thank you all so much for allowing me to live my dream," she said, praising her fans before exiting the stage. I'm sure this year's ACM Awards host, Lambert's husband Blake Shelton, was waiting to give her a celebratory toast (he's quite the fan of toasts).

The Milestone Award marked Lambert's second honor for the night, as her song "Automatic" won for Song of the Year. Even during his hosting duties, Shelton was quick to take to Twitter in order to send a sweet message praising his ladylove. This is nothing new for the couple as far as sweetness is concerned — Lambert and Shelton might be the most adorable pair the world has seen in recent history.

Later in the night, she also took home Album of the Year for "Platinum." Congrats to Lambert for her well-deserved honors! You keep that sass coming, girl.
