Carey Mulligan Is 'Vogue's' May Cover Girl

by Marisa Dalpiaz

Carey Mulligan has been laying low since she played Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, but now she's back. Not only is she is starring in a new Broadway show and premiering a new film, Carey Mulligan is also covering Vogue's May issue. In her interview with Vogue, the British actress reveals to readers why she is always changing up her beauty look (hint: it's not because she gets bored).

Mulligan attributes both her low profile to always changing up her beauty looks. “The more similar you look job to job, the more they relate to you from your previous roles. That’s why I’ve done loads of really stupid things to my hair in the past to try to not look the same," Mulligan told Vogue during her interview.

In the majority of her time, Mulligan lives in the English countryside (probably with her hubby, Mumford and Sons' frontman, Marcus Mumford), so her choice of home base influences her off-duty look more than anything. Mulligan explained to Vogue that she often opts to go makeup-free. While describing her every day look she says, "I like waking up in the morning and putting on whatever’s by the side of my bed, and putting on Wellington boots." Love. Her.

Right now, Carey Mulligan is living in New York City while she stars as Kyra Hollis in Skylight on Broadway. Don't miss the charming video about the English country mouse living in New York and check out Carey Mulligan's gorgeous May Cover and below:
