Lindsey Vonn And Tiger Woods Are No Longer An Item

by Caitlyn Callegari

Today is the day we'll look back upon as the time that the sport of golf and the sport of skiing went their separate ways. Eh, actually, probably not considering that those two entities usually have absolutely nothing do with each other anyway. But you see, that's what it feels like, because pro-golfer Tiger Woods and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, have broken off their relationship.

I know we hear about celebrities and public figures breaking up nearly every day, but this revelation is not just the usual tabloid fodder. The news of their breakup is sadly the real deal. Us Weekly relays that Vonn spoke about it on Facebook page saying,

"After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we've created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart."

It appears that there are no signs of hard feelings but rather a simple understanding that timing is what unfortunately can make or break you. Despite the breakup, maintaining a three year relationship in the public eye should be seen as a job well done. I bet you wish all of your non-public relationships could have ended as drama-free, right?

Woods didn't stay mum on the situation, either. Golf.com makes note of Woods own sentiments about the split on his website. He said:

"I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I'll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family. Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It's difficult to spend time together."

It's a tough break, for sure. But hey, maybe one day when they aren't so busy taking over the sporting worlds they can reunite. Or not. As long as they're both happy, so are we!
