Karlie Kloss' Pre-Met Gala Look Is Casually Glam

by Kali Borovic

Before she stepped out in the not-so-basic black Atelier Versace gown at Monday night's Met Gala, Karlie Kloss wore a '90s inspired slip dress to fuel up on caffeine before the big night, according to Refinery 29. The model hit the streets of Manhattan in a floral slip dress with tan sandals that was basically the exact opposite of her night-time ensemble. With wet hair and chic black bag, Kloss looked cool and casual as she started her prep for the Gala.

With an effortless feel that can easily go from day to night, this floral print maxi slip dress is sure to be the uniform of the summer. The high-slitted wonder could be paired with some fabulous flats or transformed with an open toed heel, making it equally suitable for a stroll in the park or an evening garden party. The soft color palette also lends this dress well to an au naturalemakeup look, like the one Kloss rocked here.

Although she didn't need heavy makeup or statement accessories to outfit her daytime look, Kloss stepped onto the red carpet a few hours later with a totally different vibe going on. Opting for a black dress with green accented jewelry, the model showed how truly versatile her fashion sense is. Check out both looks below:

It's hard to pick a favorite among the two styles, so it'll just have to be a tie for now.
