18 T. Swift Dance Moves For The '1989' Tour

by Caitlyn Callegari

If you are as fortunate as I am to be able to witness Taylor Swift’s 1989 Tour in person, then listen up, lucky ducks. It’s time to get your bodies ready, because Taylor Swift's 1989 Tour set list has been released. Obviously, it’s amazing, because, duh, it’s Taylor, but there is so much more to it than just being easily jammable. Like, for instance, despite Swift’s own planned out choreography for her tour, you have to know that we are morally obligated to have our own moves for dancing in the audience. But, just not any old moves, I’m talking iconic T. Swift ones.

It’s a good thing she’s given us a ton of material to work with, because let me tell you, it isn’t easy finding the appropriate hip sway and shoulder pop to match to 18 (19 if we’re getting technical) tunes. But, alas, I’ve done it as a labor of love for my most favorite singer and her sure to be awesome tour. So get to stretching, people!

Despite the fact that Just Jared says it may be altered in the future, here are all the songs that are on the current set list, accompanied by the appropriate T. Swift dance moves for each song.

"Welcome to New York"

Welcome her with open arms. And then just keep throwing them to the beat and stuff.

"New Romantics"

Just sort of manically wiggle your arms. It's a song of whimsy, anyway.

"Blank Space"

"Nice to," Shoulder. "Meet you," Shoulder. "Where you," Shoulder. "Been?" Shoulder.

"I Knew You Were Trouble"

Use your most badass (ish) arm throw. 'Tude it UP.

"I Wish You Would"

This particular tempo calls for a, "Wacky Inflatable Waving Arm Man."

"How You Get the Girl"

*Sway to the right* *Hip check your sister* *Sway to the left* *Hip check your BFF*

"I Know Places"

This ones dark and sultry. Do NOT smile.

"All You Had to Do Was Stay"

Keep the momentum going. Your legs may be tired, but your hands sure aren't.

"You Are in Love"

Dramatic, fluid posing. Have your friends blow on you to exact this wind blown effect, if you're ambitious.

"Clean"

Throw your whole body into it.

"Love Story"

There's really no right way to dance to this song, which means there's no wrong way, either.

Or, is there?

"Style"

Freestyle 4 'Style." It's the only way.

"This Love"

This one isn't really dancey, so take the opportunity to praise the gods for this lyrical masterpiece.

"Bad Blood"

Shake away the h8rs with legitimately every part of your body that can shake.

"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"

This is a song of celebration, treat it accordingly.

"Enchanted/Wildest Dreams"

The hips are imperative. Work up the stamina to get them through this mashup.

"Out of the Woods"

Before the big finale, try your hand at chair dancing. And like Tay, give it ALL you've got.

"Shake It Off"

Throw caution to the wind. This is the last hurrah. Body rolls, booty bumps, and thrusts all around.
