Sally Hansen's Polish Matching App Is Incredible

by Eliza Florendo

The tech and fashion and beauty worlds have slowly been marrying in a beautiful way. We now have apps that put outfits together for us, and even give us suggestions for how to style a particular piece. And now, our nails are getting the royal treatment, because Sally Hansen's new app 'Mani Match' lets you try on different hues of nail polish in real time.

The app, which is available for both Apple and Android users, will let people try on 200 of Sally Hansen's shades starting July, according to WWD. And along with the different shades, users can also preview nail art designs from Sally Hansen's global color ambassador, Madeline Poole.

Of course, there's a purchase option, along with the choice of sharing the particular shade with friends. The app will also give suggestions for different shade colors, and according to Kristen D’Arcy, vice president of global digital at Coty Inc., the color and textures are pretty true to reality.

This comes as great news to me, as someone who's been yelled at before for trying on nail polish shades at the store. You can't always tell what a particular shade is going to look like, especially if your skin color changes with the seasons. But this app allows you to try on different hues sans-judgment, and you won't be walking around with five different shades on each hand anymore.

To keep users coming back, D'Arcy noted that the app will be upgraded regularly, and content will be added to the application. Their goal is to create a new shopping experience—one that's personalized and curated for each individual. So far, so good with this new breakthrough app.
