A Woodstock Film Is Happening By Rodarte Sisters

by Madison Alcedo

Fashion designers don't always exclusively work with fashion. They are artists, after all! It comes as no surprise then that designer sisters Kate And Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte have written and will be directing a film called Woodstock, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will star Kirsten Dunst, a friend of the sisters, who has always been a fan of the Rodarte brand and its founders.

Apparently a screenplay has been in the works for several years, but there aren't any more details about the upcoming movie's plot, although we're itching for more. We're sure this Mulleavy x Dunst collab will be super stylish and totally epic.

Waypoint Entertainment and Cota Films will be financing and producing Woodstock. A Waypoint Entertainment film, The Sea of Trees, will be at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, so maybe we'll see Woodstock there next year?

This isn't the first time the Mulleavy sisters have had a part in the film industry, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The pair worked as costume designers for the 2010 movie Black Swan. If the costumes for Woodstock will be anything like the dramatic wardrobe we saw in Black Swan, then I absolutely can't wait to get a glimpse into Woodstock's costumes and set. There could possibly be some best costume design awards for the two in the future, no doubt.
