11 Cher Tweets That Will Change Your Life
Sure, Cher's career heyday was back in the '70s and '80s, but she's still absolutely amazing. At 69 years old, she looks fabulous, is still an amazing and legendary performer, is whip smart and an amazing LGBT ally, and perhaps best of all, she's on Twitter. Sometimes celebrities using social media is a terrible combination, but in the case of Cher, it's like a match made in heaven. Never has there been a celebrity more comfortable with posting free-form thought in 140 character increments, and never have I more ardently and without hesitation pushed "Follow" on an account. What I'm trying to say is, Cher's Twitter is likely the best thing you'll ever see in your life. Strong statement? Perhaps. True? You bet.
If you've never spent any time on Cher's Twitter, it's basically an amalgamation of randomness. She responds to fans, dispenses valuable advice, and basically just types whatever's in her brain at any given moment, regardless of whether or not it'll make any sense to anyone reading. And that's kind of what makes it so wonderful. You don't need context to appreciate the unbridled stream-of-thought she unleashes on a daily basis. You just have to sit back and enjoy.
Here are 11 of Cher's best, most profound tweets thus far — though frankly, there are way more than could ever be compiled in a short list.
On Twizzlers vs. Red Vines
I kinda have to agree with her there. I do like those Twizzlers pull-aparts, but Red Vines are the clear winner.
On her beauty regimen
Good advice. BB cream is the bomb, moisturizer is necessary, and wiping excess off your hands is always smart.
On Stanley Tucci
They worked together in Burlesque, so I'm going to hope this is some weird inside joke, because I love The Tucc.
It's important to look within rather than basing your decisions on other people. Again, good advice.
On technical difficulties
I'm freaking out dealing with a diva like Cher just online, so who knows how the iPad could deal with her legendary status up close in personal?
So... she's a Democrat, then?
On celebrating Madonna's birthday
What better way to celebrate the birth of your fellow diva than by cleaning out the ole system?
On running out of battery
Thanks for keeping us updated, Cher! I wouldn't have known where she was, otherwise.
On being invisible
Yes, we can. And I'm thrilled about it.
On what's in a name
I... don't think I understand, but I just want to keep looking at it because I'm sure there's something there I need to know about. Is Cher running for president?
On her career
You're ruling it. That's what's happening.
