7 Bridal Hairstyles You Can Wear To A Festival

by Katharine McEntee

I am always amazed by the intricate and whimsical beauty looks at bridal fashion weeks, and this year was no exception. With butterfly-adorned buns and white face paint, the bridal 2016 beauty looks fit right in with this year’s festival fashion. So instead of pinning these beauty looks to a secret Pinterest board and waiting to wear them in the future, why not swap out your flower crown for a more refined and creative look at your next music festival?

I know what you are thinking: Why would you wear bridal hair to a festival? Well, because bridal hair has changed a lot in the past couple of years! While a classic chignon and retro curls are still on trend, more imaginative looks are surfacing — like wavy tresses decorated with tiny bouquets and super long braids adorned with flowers and jewels. These boho bridal looks are becoming increasingly popular, and to be honest, isn’t it about time to retire the flower crown?

So whether you are headed to an folk or indie music festival or are just wishing you were, try out these bridal inspired music festival ‘dos. Scroll down to see my favorite boho beauty looks from bridal week 2016.

1. Carolina Herrera

This might just be my favorite bridal/festival beauty look ever! I can't wait to try out this hairstyle. While I am sure this look isn't super easy to recreate, it doesn't look very intricate either. I plan on curling my hair, then having a friend help me section it with clear rubber bands and add in some fresh flowers.

2. Houghton

Nothing screams festival fashion quite like Houghton's bridal beauty look. The tiny braids, Miley Cyrus style buns, and face paint combo may be a bit over the top for some, but why not try two out of the three styles at your next music festival?

3. Lela Rose

It may seem odd to stick a branch in your hair, but I've seen weirder things at music festivals. So why not try this simple and chic adornment in a messy bun or half up half down hairstyle?

4. Reem Acra

Whether it's beads, pearls, flowers, or ribbon, bedazzled braids are a festival fashion must. While I know Reem Acra used pearl and bead adornments, you could make a similar effect by adding fresh baby's breath to your braid.

5. Ines Di Santo

Music festivals are a time of year when you can wear ridiculously crazy clothes and accessories judgment-free. So why not go back to your youth and wear butterfly clips? Try adding these delicate butterfly clips to your wavy mane or perch them perfectly in a long braid.

6. Jenny Packham

If you want something more simple, try this crimped hair and flower headband look from Jenny Packham. It is just different enough to make a statement, but still very sweet.

7. Claire Pettibone

Shade your face from the sun with a super cool topper. To give it a more festival feel, add some small braids to your hair like they did at the Claire Pettibone show.
