Two-Legged Cat Hops Like A Happy Bunny

by Beca Grimm

It seriously breaks my heart to learn some people out there would turn away a super sweet animal only because of non-life-threatening deformities. These people are only missing out on unique compassion and companionship. Take for instance Smiley, the eyeless Golden Retriever. He's one bad ass therapy dog, but that wouldn't have happened if someone didn't give him a shot. Now presenting Roux, a two-legged cat on Instagram who hops around like a legit bunny. Honestly, this might be the cutest thing I've seen all month.

Lil’ Bunny Sue Roux Hendrickson Dean Akey (her full, proper name, obvs) was born with a congenital deformity that left her with just two hind legs. Apparently, her original humans were so grossed out by her inability to cover up her litter box visitation evidence, they put her up for adoption. Seriously, guys? If you're grossed out by a little cat poop, maybe don't have a pet cat? Because regardless of leg situation, you will encounter it up close in some capacity — as a lifelong pet owner, I can sadly but very real-style attest to this. I digress. Roux enchanted Louisiana woman and vet clinic tech Jackie Deak Akey enough to take the cutie into her home. Now a whole year old, Roux still doesn't experience major problems from her different abilities.

She can still take on all the important duties inherent in cathood. She just takes them on a bit differently — which turns out to be far more adorable than your average feline. Watch Roux be a bunny-ish boss below with various cat duties:

Besides mastering daily tasks like grooming, watering oneself, and begging for dinner (especially important to master, in my opinion), Roux has honed quite the aptitude in modeling. She really channels a convincing holier-than-thou 'tude. Like, "What front legs? Psssh." She's also formed an intimidating posse of legendary cuteness proportions. Check her mug out below:

Bunny cat plus real bunny? It might be too much. I don't know, guys. I don't know about anything anymore.
