The Best Dressed Stars at the MOCA Gala 2015

by Rosie Narasaki

Sometimes, there's just no better event than a good old museum fundraiser, right? With the artistic and classy setting, everyone tends to up their fashion game with clothes that strike a creative chord—and last night's 36th annual MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) Gala was no exception. The 36th annual fundraising event honored 83-year-old conceptual artist John Baldessari, while the always stylish Janelle Monae performed.

The gala itself was held outdoors in tents, which were fittingly (and cheekily) decorated with Baldessari's famous quote, “I will not make any more boring art.” The event took place at the Geffen Contemporary Center in Downtown Los Angeles — and as you might expect, the fundraiser (which happily raised over $3 million) was quite well-dressed.

One of the most memorable looks of the night came from Dita von Teese, who looked particularly stunning in Zuhair Murad. China Chow also attended and wore a seriously bold graffiti'd voluminous ball gown. Other attendees included Marisa Tomei, who went ultra-ladylike in floral Valentino, Tomorrowland up-and-comer Britt Robertson, and Gia Coppola, who both killed it in edgy Louis Vuitton looks.

Pure drama-rama. And perfectly on pitch for a night honoring John Baldessari at MOCA.

A Valentino embroidered floral LBD? It's all of my favorite things at once.

It's tough to compete with Amal Clooney, but Britt's been proving her fashion street cred in a major way throughout the Tomorrowland press tour. Also, how cool is her mini skirt?).

Gia Coppola

Gia's aunt Sofia has a long history of stunning in Louis Vuitton. It looks like the LV preference runs in the family!

Seriously, has Janelle ever looked anything short of fabulous?
