9 Best Tony Awards Dresses To Get You Excited
Soon we will be stopping everything when some of the world's best talent gets together for one night of musical awesomeness. Yes, the Tony Awards air on Sunday, June 7th, and that means bold looks and even bolder personalities will be hitting our televisions screens in a little over 24 hours. Although it doesn't rank as highly as say, the Oscars, when it comes to fashion-related anticipation, there have been sartorial standouts through the years that deserve to be noticed.
The Tony Awards stage has featured many great performances and incredible talent over the years, but the fabulous looks on the red carpet are often over looked. From sleek and sexy dresses to over-the-top get ups, you never know what you'll see. These outfits deserve our recognition!
With big (and stylish) names like Elizabeth Moss, Bradley Cooper, and Carey Mulligan among those nominated for Tonys this time around, the red carpet is bound to be unforgettable this year. I can't wait to see how it plays out. Kristen Chenoweth is hosting alongside Alan Cumming, so you can also be sure to see some fabulous on-stage style.
In past years we've witnessed simple yet stunning style at the Tonys, but the stars who stepped out of their comfort zones really stole the show. I can't wait to see the looks this year, but until then I'll be swooning over these past best dressed Tony Awards looks.
1. Anika Noni Rose
This bold Badgley Mischka look had heads turning for all the right reasons.
2. Anna Kendrick
This simple Donna Karan gown had just enough flare to land it among the best dressed.
3. Courtney Reed
This bright Carmen Marc Valvo gown added some much-needed color to the Tonys red carpet.
4. Jennifer Hudson
She nailed an on-stage performance in this KaufmanFranco sequin gown.
5. Jessica Chastain
She made see-through cool before the Kardashians did! Although this look may not have been a big hit at the time, it certainly earned her a spot on this best dressed list.
6. Scarlet Johannson
This outfit may be simple, but it's absolutely timeless.
7. Kate Mara
This Dolce & Gabbana dress had critics divided, but I'm digging the highly embellished mini with puffy sleeves.
8. Emmy Rossum
Silver siren alert!
9. Anna Gunn
This classically timeless yet bold look kept everyone interested and made her look fabulous. Definitely my favorite on this list.
I can wait to see what everyone wears this year!
