Stop What You're Doing Because...'Glee' Puppets

by Christine DiStasio

Stop everything you're doing and look at the photos that Lea Michele and Naya Rivera posted on their Twitter and Instagram respectively — Glee's getting the puppet treatment! A few weeks ago show creator Ryan Murphy teased a puppet-centric episode on his Twitter account with photos of much of the New Directions and McKinley High kids as puppets, but now it looks like the rest of the cast has gotten the treatment, as well. Murphy recently spoke out about the need to regroup and restructure following the untimely death of Cory Monteith and how the remainder of the Season 5 will be made up of episodes that honor his memory and what he loved most about the show and now we know what that meant—PUPPETS.

The photos and adorable likenesses of the show's characters can mean one of two things: an homage to the Muppets or to the hit Broadway show, Avenue Q. A short synopsis of the episode the will feature the puppets, appropriately titled "Puppet Master" that will air on Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving), reads:

Blaine believes he has the best plan to win Nationals, but he doesn’t take the glee club’s criticism too well when the students accuse him of being too controlling. Over in New York, Kurt also runs into control issues when the band disagrees over the venue of their first official gig that Kurt booked. Meanwhile, Sue reveals the story behind her iconic tracksuit and gets in touch with her feminine side.

An episode all about Kurt and Blaine being control-freak perfectionists surrounded by puppets? Count me and my Thanksgiving food-baby in! If Ryan Murphy's idea of "restructuring" translates to adorable puppets, things can only go up from here. (We can only hope that the New Directions' Nationals performance includes these cute, little guys.)
