Does Ali's Father Know Charles? It Seems Likely

by Kaitlin Reilly

The Season 6 premiere of Pretty Little Liars officially kicked off the show's "Summer of Answers," but it wouldn't be a summer of answers without plenty of questions to go along with it. Now that the girls have finally escaped A's dollhouse of horrors, there's one major question on everyone's mind: who is Charles DiLaurentis? We know that Charles is a relative of the DiLaurentis family, but we still have no idea how Charles is connected to Ali. Could Charles be Jason's twin brother, as suspected from his tragic home movie found in the lair? It's entirely possible, which would mean that Ali and Jason's parents would (obviously) have to know all about A's real identity. A new sneak peek from Season 6 episode "Songs Of Innocence" shows that Ali's dad is definitely lying about something Charles related — and just what that is could hold the answer we've been waiting for.

The new sneak peek seems to take place just after the liars are sprung from the dollhouse. Ali was the one who helped find them, which put her own life at great risk — a rare move for the girl who seems to consistently put her friend's lives at risk. Ali's dad is chewing her out for almost getting herself killed by A, whom he believes is Andrew Campbell. Then Ali drops two words in their conversation that makes her dad's face go white: Charles DiLaurentis. Her dad insists that there is no Charles DiLaurentis in their family, but something about the way he answers that question is mighty suspicious. Take a look at the sneak peek below:

Facts are facts: if Charles really is a member of the DiLaurentis family, Ali's father has to know about him. After all, Charles has the DiLaurentis last name: if he were a secret relative of Mrs. DiLaurentis, he might have her maiden name and not the same one as Ali. Sasha Pieterse confirmed a relation to the DiLaurentis clan in her interview, so yes, someone is lying here. The question now is why.

My theory? That Charles did something horrible to Ali or to the rest of the family that made the family not speak of him. In fact, this spoiler from the fourth episode of Season 6 of Pretty Little Liarstitled "Don't Look Now" reveals that Ali's dad will eventually come clean about that connection. Check out this revealing synopsis for "Don't Look Now," airing June 23.

After lying to Alison and Jason about Charles, Kenneth comes clean about the family’s connection to the young boy. While he won’t give much detail about Charles’ past, he say’s enough to give the PLLs a clue of where to look for the missing pieces – Radley Sanitarium. With Radley now closed and the files shipped off to be shredded, the girls must act fast before all traces of Charles’ past.

It looks like Kenneth will keep lying to Ali in the next episode, but like with everything else on Pretty Little Liars, the truth will come out — we'll just have to wait a little bit longer for it.
