Do Klum and Mel B Work on 'America's Got Talent?'

by Molly Fitzpatrick

On Tuesday's America's Got Talent season premiere, supermodel Heidi Klum and Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown joined Howie Mandel and Howard Stern at the judges' table. How will the arrival of these ladies affect the chemistry of the show?

Only two minutes into the episode, Mel B. was already bringing the girl power. A fan on the red carpet jokingly asked, "What's your talent?" Mel took the woman by the shoulders, proclaiming, "I'm a Spice Girl."

For her part, Heidi stayed humble, telling us that only last year she was "just sitting on the couch and watching [AGT]" — a claim that I'm highly skeptical of, but nevertheless charmed by. She also remained unflappable in the face of Howard Stern's creepy offer to suck the venom out of her body during a snake handler's performance. And, most importantly, she yodeled.

Brown has appeared as a judge on both the Australian and British versions of The X Factor. Klum, of course, is the longtime host of Project Runway. This isn't their first time at the reality TV rodeo — though, considering the peculiar nature of America's Got Talent, it might be their first time judging an act that actually belongs at a rodeo.

The eighth season of AGT is the first to feature four judges. Following the departure of Sharon Osbourne, I'm glad for the estrogen boost.

What did you think? Are Heidi Klum and Mel B. a good fit for AGT?
