8 'Peanuts' Trailer Moments That Are Classic

by Kenya Foy

Tampering with classic cartoons is generally asking for trouble, in my opinion, but fortunately my inner pessimist has been silenced by the newest trailer for The Peanuts Movie. The film is set to hit theaters on Nov. 6, 2015, which marks the 65th anniversary of the eponymous comic strip from which it was birthed. As a huge fan of the comic strip, the subsequent animated films and holiday specials, I have to admit that I cannot stop gushing over it. The CG aspect of the new film was a concern at first, but it’s clear that Peanuts does a great job of preserving the charm and characteristics of the original while keeping things modern at the same time.

I don't want to reveal every single moment of the new trailer, but I can tell you this: All of the major players are back, including Charlie and his little sister Sally, Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy, Linus (plus his blanket) and more. Two Peanuts Movie trailers preceded this newest one, but the latest sneak peek is far more action-packed. While the gang is basically up to their old hijinks, there’s a new chick in town and Charlie may or may not have a thing for her. That’s definitely a new spin on the classic, but these eight Peanuts moments are familiar enough to make you realize why you fell in love with Charlie and company in the first place:

1. Charlie Brown's Self-Loathing

Even at his lowest, Charlie's still the most adorable thing ever.

2. The Entire Gang Causing Trouble

As usual, Charlie is the group's unwitting leader.

3. Snoopy Disrupting Class

Snoopy going to school never did make much sense, and it has more to do with his deplorable behavior than his species. Seriously, he should've been banished to a lifetime of homeschooling a long time ago.

4. Pigpen

I absolutely love Pigpen. Maybe it's because all he needs in life is to boogie his little heart out, even if he doesn't bathe after the fact. But I'm delighted to see him back in action, filth and all.

5. Lucy Giving Advice

Yes, Lucy is back with her unbearably bossy attitude and she's still offering words of wisdom from her sidewalk psychiatric stand.

6. Snoopy's Dancing

Slay, Snoopy.

7. Schroeder and His Piano

The world's most famous animated piano virtuoso is still a total charmer.

8. This Adorably Sappy Moment Between Charlie and Snoopy

Too cute for words.
