Hilary Duff's 'GMA' Look is Fashion Forward

by Jessica Thomas

Former Lizzie McGuire star and singer Hilary Duff celebrated the release of her new album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., with a performance on Good Morning America today. The fashion-forward singer showed off her figure in an 80s-inspired outfit of black and neon hot pants, a wide yellow belt, nude fishnet stockings, and black booties. Duff performed "Sparks," her latest single, for GMA's studio audience this morning, the same time her new album was released.

Duff is no stranger to taking fashion risks, including the bright hair colors, like teal and pink, she's rocked over the past year. In an interview with Elle in January, the actress admitted she sometimes struggles with body insecurities, but when she works out, it's not about losing weight, but feeling good about herself. Duff revealed that she makes fitness a priority in her life, but tries not to sweat it when her clothes feel tight.

"I love to work out, but I'm just not that concerned with being the skinniest person," she said in the article. "I'm not a model; I'm an actress." When it came to today's outfit, all we saw was confidence and body positivity. On Duff's Twitter today, the singer posted multiple photos of her on GMA, including one with a baby snow leopard.

After her performance, she posted another photo, which showed off her killer, colorful outfit. Duff's short stature was obvious when she had to stand on a chair to fit into a picture with Live! with Kelly and Michael co-host Michael Strahan.

And while I'd argue that her outfit was the best part of her day, I'd say the news that Breathe In. Breathe Out. made it to number one on iTunes totally trumped it.
