Charlie Ebersol Stays Positive Via Social Media

by Daniela Cabrera

You know what? I really thought that Charlie Ebersol and Britney Spears could actually go the distance. After they were first rumored to be dating in fall 2014, I looked him up and he seemed to be a perfect match for Spears' lifestyle. Ebersol seemed down-to-earth, came from a show biz family, and appeared to be an all around good guy. Well, as might have been expected, dating one of the biggest pop stars on the planet was probably not easy, and the two reportedly called it quits after eight months together. Spears seemingly confirmed the split reports were true when she deleted all the photos of her beau from her Instagram account, and now, Ebersol has taken to Instagram himself to share sad, yet hopeful video that appears to be relate to how he's getting through the breakup aftermath.

While neither Spears nor Ebersol have commented on the alleged breakup, you know that going through and deleting old photos of your ex on social media is a pretty blatant and obvious sign of distress. A lot of attention has also been brought to a guy Spears posed with in a photo she posted over Father's Day weekend and captioned "Nothing like Louisiana boys." Was this a dig at Ebersol? Who knows, but something seems to have hurt him because he was compelled to post a video of himself playing with a puppy on Instagram and an accompanying very telling caption.

While a puppy is probably the best medicine for any ailment, Ebersol went also added music to the short video with Randy Newman's "You've Got A Friend In Me." Ummm, a Toy Story reference AND a puppy? This is a man who knows what he needs to cheer up. He captioned the video with a long statement that includes the sentence, "If nothing else, I hope you're happy just in knowing that you made me happy" and mentioned the Bible verse Colossians 3:12.

If this is a reference to Britney Spears — and it sure seems like it — it is really sad because lost love is not any fun at all. But what is a good sign is that, at least the public eye, Ebersol is remaining positive and cherishing the moments he did have in his relationship, and not bringing down Spears' name in the process. Since this has yet to be publicly confirmed, I can still believe that they had a little tiff and the pop star decided to go on an angry Instagram rampage, right? Time will only tell, but I only hope for the best for both of them, and that maybe they can work it out.

Bustle has reached out to Spears' and Ebersol's reps for comment, but has not yet heard back.
