What To Expect From 'Project Runway Junior'

by Stephanie Chon

Who doesn't love seeing young, talented, and driven kids following their passions? Well, this fall, Project Runway will release Project Runway Junior, showcasing teen designers between the ages of 14 and 17 years old. There's just something so fascinating and inspiring to see kids doing something that they clearly love and excel at it. I'm definitely expecting Project Runway Junior to be a little like Food Network's Chopped kids editions where the contestants still look like babies, but have the knowledge of a 30 year old. It's always super endearing to hear about what drives these kids because it's never about adult things such as needing to pay the mortgage for the house or earning money to put food on the table — it's usually about their dreams and aspirations.

Project Runway Junior will be hosted by Tim Gunn and co-hosted by Hannah Davis. I'm pretty sad Heidi Klum won't be co-hosting, but I'm sure Gunn and Davis will make for a fantastically entertaining duo and will do a great job with the kiddos.

The confirmed judges will be Christian Siriano, Aya Kanai, and, of course, Nina Garcia. From the looks of some Instagram photos and tweets, casting for the talented contestants is well underway. The show will be broadcasted on Lifetime, but the premiere date is still up in the air. If you absolutely can't wait, try to tide yourself over with Project Runway 's 14th season, which will air on August 6.
