The Marina Rinaldi label mantra is "Women are Back" and the clothing brand's goal is to support women of all shapes, sizes, and ages, providing stellar fashion choices for them. Those values are precisely why newly-minted Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner Patricia Arquette is perfect to front Marina Rinaldi's Fall 2015 campaign.
Lynne Webber, who serves as managing director of the brand, told Women's Wear Daily, "We’ve been moving away from sizes and into the idea of real women, in a culture where size and age are taboos." How refreshing is that?!
For her part, Arquette told WWD that she partnered with the Marina Rinaldi label because of "how much they care about women, about making them all feel beautiful, powerful, confident."
Again, all fashion brands should follow that ethos.
The actress continued, "When it comes to self acceptance and body consciousness, most women still feel insecure and struggle to correspond to a stereotyped kind of beauty. Marina Rinaldi — through a straightforward communication strategy and through extraordinary fashion collections — helps all women believe in themselves and in the individual beauty each of them possesses. I’m proud I've been offered the chance to add my voice to the statement 'Women Are Back.'"
It really is a no brainer for Marina Rinaldi to link up with Arquette. Need I remind you of Arquette's Academy Awards speech, in which she spoke out about gender and wage equality in the workplace? It still wows me that she took time during the biggest professional accolade of her career to call attention to an issue that has plagued women for eons.
Arquette will appear in Rinaldi ads for the next two seasons. The first is clearly candid and family-focused! She looks good and like she feels great about herself. It's amazing when clothes can create that feeling.
Webber also noted that Arquette's appointment makes sense since she "embodies all values, she is beautiful and successful, and she has shown she has the courage to stand up against the psychological pressures, even more so in her role as an actress, and accept the natural evolution."
If you're not super familiar with Rinaldi offerings, here are some of their loveliest pieces.
Like this lace dress.
Or these stretchy, leather-look leggings.
I'm totally loving this blue bikini with ruched cups and boy short bottoms.
Obviously, by looking at these pieces, you can tell that the Marina Rinaldi brand is committed to stylish, all-occasion pieces that are of utmost quality and on trend. The brand is available at Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom, all higher end department stores. It hopes to expand its U.S. presence, which has been growing, with Webber noting that it wants to eradicate this notion that plus-sized brands aren't well-made.
She told WWD, "The paradox is that, statistically, there is a resistance there to plus-size brands, as they are associated with cheap fashion options. But women shouldn't be denied quality choices because of their size."
Thankfully, Marina Rinaldi is creating fashionable clothes that help solve this problem.
