The Uniqlo x Hana Tajima Fashion Line Is Gorgeous

by Jessica Thomas

Japanese retailer Uniqlo is known for its comfortable, classic basics made in breathable fabrics and neutral or muted tones. UK-based designer and blogger Hana Tajima is known for her modern yet modest clothing that aligns with her Muslim beliefs. The two have collaborated to form Uniqlo x Hana Tajima, a clothing line that includes a hijab and other clothing designed to appeal to Uniqlo's Muslim customers and anyone who chooses to dress modestly.

The clothing line will be released on July 3 in select Uniqlo stores in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia and will also be available online. The clothing pieces include tops, bottoms, and dresses that are all designed to be modest but breathable and comfortable, even in warm temperatures. Tajima's collection of scarves function as hijabs, turbans or can be worn as a scarf or wrap. The line also includes three pieces using Uniqlo's AIRism fabric, a sweat-wicking textile used for their workout gear. Tajima designed three pieces using the fabric: a sleeveless top to wear under clothing, a headband and an inner hijab, all used to keep wearers cool.

Uniqlo released a video preview of the line featuring Tajima and Malaysian singer Yuna, who is also Muslim. The two modeled the clothing and explained their favorite ways to wear the pieces, which you can see below.
