Can You Live Stream Charlotte's Christening?
The world is fascinated by pretty much everything England's royal family does, and with the recent birth of Princess Charlotte, the excitement is only growing. Prince George's younger sister is set to be christened on Sunday, July 5 at Sandringham, England’s Church of St. Mary Magdalene. As with the George's own christening, the world will be watching — but can Princess Charlotte's christening be live-streamed?
Unfortunately for the public, Us Weekly reports that Charlotte will be christened in a private ceremony, like her older brother. While you and I won't be in attendance (sniffle), invitations were reportedly extended to Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, and Kate's parents Michael and Carole Middleton, among other relatives. Prince Harry will not be in attendance due to his work with the Nature Conservancy and Save the Rhino Trust.
There's a chance that fans can watch the arrivals at the church. In 2013, photographers were granted access to the royal family before the ceremony. (You can check out some of those pics below!) Additionally, The Mirror provided a live stream of the arrivals to Prince George's christening, so there's a good chance that this will happen again, so be sure to check out The Mirror's coverage if you're looking to watch.
However, one aspect of the celebration will be open to the public. Following the christening, Kate and William will visit with fans of the royal family in the church's paddock. The palace announced the news in a statement that read,
The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the warm wishes they have received since Princess Charlotte’s birth — many of them from local people in Norfolk — and are delighted the paddock can be opened on the day of the christening.
In other words, you can keep an eye on the Internet, because pictures from attendees are sure to pop up. Until then, you can fuel your excitement with these highlights from Prince George's christening.
