Brody's The First To Talk About Kourtney & Scott
I woke up this morning wishing the horrible news we got on Monday was just a bad dream, but unfortunately, it seems like this is really happening. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are really broken up, and although I wouldn't be surprised if they reconciled down the road, right now, things aren't looking good at all. In fact, Scott has already been seen with other women, and it sounds like Kourtney wanted out of the relationship for the sake of their children — a solid reason to break things off, even if it sucks that they're apart. And even though the news has yet to be officially confirmed by either half of the longtime couple, for the first time, a member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan is finally speaking up. During an appearance on Today on Tuesday morning, Brody Jenner talked about Kourtney and Scott's breakup, and I guess this means it's really real. Bummer.
The good news? The former The Hills star is taking the news way better than I did, because unlike me, Brody was able to discuss his opinion on the situation without dissolving into a puddle of tears and emotion. And unfortunately, it sounds like he knows just as much about what's going on as the rest of us do. He kept his comments short and sweet, without revealing anything that the rest of us might not be supposed to know. He said:
Scott and Kourtney both are great. Obviously Scott's gone through some issues in the past. He's worked through them. Honestly, when I saw those pictures, I went, "Uh oh." I even showed my girfriend. I just went, "This isn't good." It's unfortunate.
He's right. It is unfortunate. So unfortunate that I'm disappointed that I've rooted for Scott all these years, and then those photos of him hanging out with ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli (and again with a mystery brunette) cropped up over the weekend. I can't imagine how much this sucks for Kourtney right now, because finding out that a guy you've been with for almost a decade is cozying up to an ex is difficult enough without the whole world finding out about it right alongside you.
None of Kourtney's sisters have spoken out about the split yet... except for this somewhat cryptic tweet from Khloe, which could possibly have to do with what's going on right now.
I have a feeling that if Kourtney were to give her fam the go ahead, she'd receive all kinds of supportive social media messages. But if she wants to keep the situation private, I totally get it, which is why it wouldn't be surprising if anyone closer to her than Brody is ever says anything about what's going on. However, if this becomes a plot point in an upcoming season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, that would totally make sense, since that's the place where the family is most open about their relationships. Until then, though, the rest of the world may end up being kept in the dark.
Kourt, if you need a hug, you know where to find me. I'm the one in the corner crying.
