Guy Has Elaborate Engagement Shoot With A Burrito

by Emma Lord

Wow, guys—I thought I was single as hell until I saw this guy who had an engagement shoot with a burrito. Like, I was full on in the "listen to more Taylor Swift than usual" phase of singledom, but San Francisco-based writer David Sikorski took being single to next level. With the help of photographer Kristina Bakrevski, he and his burrito beau have turned the entire wedding industry on its head with a delicious mockery of the engagement shoots that have been littering our newsfeeds since the dawn of millennial marriage. David is in love with this burrito, dammit, and he's not afraid who knows it.

He and the burrito galavanted all over the city of San Francisco, taking beautiful, iconic engagement pictures along the way. And guys, it will actually kinda tug on your heartstrings. (And if you're hungry, then maybe your intestines as well.) My point is, thanks to this superior photography and the light of true love in David's eyes, I really am rooting for this couple, 'til lunch do them part.

"It was particularly fun for me to inject a lot of sarcasm and humor into these kinds of portraits you see all too often," said photographer Kristina Bakrevski to Bustle. "Kind of like turning a mirror onto the whole engagement photo industry like...this is how silly it all seems. No hate on happy couples at all, just poking fun at the engagement photo ritual. It's all in good fun."

Here is the burrito that inspired this beautiful love story (for more awesome works, visit Kristin Barevski's website):

I know you're feeling emotional right now, but you're going to have to KEEP IT TOGETHER, mates. There is so much more to come.

The happy couple were creating some major squad jealousy, trouncing along beaches and posing in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.

“With so many domesticated photos of staged afternoon picnics in the park or holding hands running along the beach, I figured people would be interested in sharing the happiness of my own current love life situation as well,” said Sikorki in a statement to BuzzFeed Life.

Here they are visiting the Palace of Fine Arts.

And picnicking with the Painted Ladies:

And, of course, strolling around the most #basic of all #basic engagement shoot locations—Golden Gate Park.

“We haven’t established a set date yet, but over the next few months I hope to be introducing our menu of friends to one another,” he said to BuzzFeed.

No word yet on how to score an invite, although the bride's section best beware: apparently Sikorski got hungry halfway through, and a second burrito quickly stole his heart to resume the shoot. Burrito bridesmaids and burrito best men? Best be watching their burrito backs.

In any case, I wish the couple all the happiness and free guacamole in the world.
