One actress has officially ditched the Cinderella blonde thing and gone back to her natural hair color. Lily James is now a brunette (with shorter hair), because you can only live in a fairy tale for so long, you know? Well, you can only live in someone else’s fairy tale for so long — I’m sure James’ life isn’t so bad.
Just when we thought that “brondes” were having all of the fun, the Cinderella star goes and proves us wrong. Unlike Blake Lively or Lucy Hale, James didn’t keep a little bit of blonde in with her brown, she went darker all the way through! And I must say, this shade really suits her.
This was the hair color she worked before ever going blonde, and honestly, she can switch back and forth with ease. Both colors work so well for her! While she may not be following the whole "a little brown and a little blonde" trend, she did also just go with a lob (aka, a long bob) so, as far as cuts go, she’s keeping it pretty trendy. And it looks so good on her.
She debuted the new hairstyle at Comic Con and in her most recent project, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. With this ‘do she’ll be the best Elizabeth Bennet.

This was James as a blonde, a look she rocked throughout promotion for the live-action Cinderella film.
And after, rocking some serious brunette strands. No "bronde" in sight.
I love this look from the back, too! Such a sweet half-up, half-down ponytail.
Here's another look at her while at Comic Con.
In case you're wondering, here's Cara Delevingne rocking a "bronde" 'do for comparison.
Bippity, boppity, boo! No more Cinderella vibe for Lily James.
