8 Unique Moments From Miami Swim Week
As you may know, this past week marked the annual Miami Swim Week, where designers have to opportunity to show off their latest creations in one of the swimwear capitals of the world. Like at any fashion week, the runway delivered unique looks that just may start trending at your local bathing suit emporium.
When it comes to bathing suits, whether it's a bikini or a one-piece, you may not immediately consider looking at a fashion show to get ideas for what you might wear the next time you go to the beach, but who doesn't love a little help in the fashion inspiration department? The shows at Miami Swim Week will definitely help you choose between a long sleeve two-piece or a crazy monokini this season.
Unfortunately, one of the downfalls of this year's Miami Swim Week is that there didn't seem to be much variety when it came to body type — even though literally everyone can rock whatever style bathing suit they want. Though it can be fun to take a look at pieces from Swim Week and be inspired for the future of swimsuit season, it would definitely be nicer if all body types were represented on the various runways. After all, every body is a beach body.
Take a look below at some of Miami Swim Week's most unique bathing suit moments below.
Unique Silhouettes
This bikini from Acacia combines two unique shapes — a high-cut top and a bottom with some serious cut-outs.
Go Long-Sleeved
Take note from Gigi Hadid and this Acacia one-piece by rocking long sleeves to the beach. This wet-suit inspired trend allows for more pattern as well as some added sun protection. Basically a win-win.
Cage Out
Make a bold statement on the beach with this Maaji bikini. The cage detailing on the top will definitely make you stand out.
Sporty Monokini
Maaji definitely went for the athletic look with this sporty monokini. I personally love the cap sleeve top, which will definitely provide some added support.
Crazy into Crochet
I'm personally in love with this Luli Fama — the crochet cut-outs would hug anyone's curves, and make for a super cool design. Basically a summer must.
Go Bold With Neon
Swimsuit brand Chromat took to the runway in bold, bright, and colorful designs. The major cut-outs provide a unique take on the basic bikini.
Boho Ruffles
This Tori Praver look combines a high-waisted bottom with a majorly skimpy, off-the-shoulder ruffle top. Take inspiration and add a little more flow to your next bikini.
Show Some Major Skin
All that's missing from this bathing suit are some yellow polka dots, because it's that teeny. If you're into showing lots of skin, try this bikini from Mia Marcelle that's more cut-out than covered-up.
