There's Something Different About Ruby Rose

by Stephanie Chon

After witnessing YouTube makeup artist Kandee Johnson contour and transform herself into Orange Is The New Black star Ruby Rose, I was convinced that makeup is magical. Now, makeup has amazed me once again because Ruby Rose's tattoos are gone thanks to the magic of makeup. As I was thumbing through my Instagram feed, I made one of those abrupt stops when I came across the photo of Rose. I could tell that something was off, but just as her caption stated, "Something is missing and I can't quite put my finger on it!" For about half a minute, I had this mini internal struggle of whether or not I should scroll into the comment section to find the answer until it clicked. Her tattoos were gone!

Some of her fans loved it, commenting things such as, "BAE without tattoos," while other fans were sad to see her tats covered up, "You're beautiful ink!" There were also a few peeps who didn't notice her tattoos were gone and commented, "She looks beautiful even without makeup! Natural beauty!" It's OK, I wasn't quick to put my finger on the difference either. But personally, I prefer her natural tatted up look. I mean, c'mon. She's clearly taught all her fans that tattoos can be the best accessory.

Makeup artist, Toby Fleischman clearly did an amazing job with her crafty work. But if you're looking to cover up your tattoos for whatever reason, the first step is to find a medium to full coverage body liquid foundation such as Dermablend's Leg and Body Cover. And a great tip to keep in mind is to use a sponge to pat (do not rub!) on the liquid foundation. But remember to never be afraid to work that ink!
