Theories About The 10th Queen On 'RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 3' To Hold You Over 'Til The Premiere

by Amy Roberts

If you're desperate for someone to spill the tea on who the 10th queen of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 3 may be, then you've come to the right place. Though last Friday night's VH1 special revealed the nine queens who will be returning to the hallowed workroom for another chance at the winning title, mama Ru sadly joked that "awful" math skills may mean a tenth queen was missing from the lineup. However, with a fanbase as passionate as Drag Race's, it's not too difficult to throw on a shimmering sleuthing cape in order to uncover some compelling theories about who the 10th All Stars queen is for Season 3 of the VH1 series.

A good place to start in this incredibly thorough investigation is taking a look at what we do know. For starters, we know that RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 3 will premiere sometime at the start of 2018. And we also now know that the cast features the return of Aja, BenDeLaCreme, Milk, Shangela, Thorgy Thor, Trixie Mattel, Kennedy Davenport, Chi Chi DeVayne, and Morgan McMichaels.

As fans know from just about every previous season of Drag Race where a mystery queen was added to the lineup later on (remember Cynthia Lee Fontaine's return to Season 9?), the addition of an extra contestant can seriously change the dynamics of the competition. Let's all keep that crafty thought in mind while speculating over the following clues and theories about who this mystery queen could be.

Darienne Lake

On Reddit, an unnamed source leaked details about who the full All Stars 3 cast might be, based on the first episode reportedly being taped in front of a live studio audience. While the nine already-announced contestants are featured in this list, there's one name that isn't: Darienne, from Season 6 of Drag Race. These details aren't to be mistaken for facts, however, as the thread itself makes clear that their intel might not be "reputable."

BeBe Zahara Benet

Currently, the most popular theory among fans is that Season 1 winner, Bebe, is the 10th All Stars 3 queen joining the cast. A comment made by a since-deleted user on a Reddit thread first suggested that BeBe is the mystery 10th queen. Making this rumor all the more interesting is that the since-deleted user apparently scheduled their "announcement" of who the 10th queen is prior to it happening. Since then, this individual has also disappeared from Reddit, which is incredibly mysterious.

Adore Delano

Fan-favorite Adore had a rough time of it during All Stars 2, in which the grunge-glamour queen tapped out of the season after the Snatch Game. However, you might also remember that during the reunion of that season, that Ru asked if Adore was "in" for All Stars 3 and she said yes. A tentative yes, but it was a yes all the same, and fans of the queen are currently clinging on to that statement, hopeful she may make a return.

Nina Bo'Nina Brown

Despite being massively talented, Nina didn't have the best Drag Race experience during her Season 9 stint. Regardless, there have been some rumors online that Nina is joining the cast of All Stars 3. Following the reveal of the cast, however, the queen shared a cheeky Instagram post (in addition to the tweet above) suggesting that she was in fact the mystery 10th queen. She wrote,

"Hope I don’t get sued but the cat is out the bag I am the official 10th queen on rpdr Allstars 3. In between live videos I’ve been filming. i would like to thank god and my 10 fans for believing in me and helping me get here!!"

While we'd all love to see Nina have another chance at the crown, it's likely best to take this post with a pinch of salt as this queen seems to be just having a little bit of fun with her fans.

Cynthia Lee Fontaine

OK, so this "theory" is more of a joke among Drag Race fans than anything else. But, you have to admit, it would be pretty funny if Cynthia were revealed to be the "mystery" queen for the second consecutive Drag Race season in a row. Bear in mind, that for a long time Shangela was Ru's go-to queen for jokey reveals regarding a "mystery" queen, and she's now part of All Stars 3. Anything could happen.

The Announcement

While this may not be a clue regarding who the 10th queen is, it's interesting nonetheless. An eagle-eyed Reddit user figured out that based upon the Drag Race Instagram celebrating a different All Stars 3 queen every week, that the 10th queen will be announced at Christmas (as that will be 10 weeks from when the above first post was made.) And wouldn't that be the perfect present?

While it's always fun to speculate over the twists and turns that Drag Race has in store each season, this definitely looking like one of the least easy to predict. One thing's for certain, Mama Ru has a surprise waiting in the wings, and nobody can wait to find out who that surprise actually is.
