11 Mardi Gras Instagram Captions To Celebrate With, Even If You’re Stuck At Work On Tuesday

by Jessica Booth

It seems that the 2018 Winter Olympics have taken over pretty much everything and everyone. In fact, it's easy to forget that another huge event is coming up: This Tuesday, Feb. 13, we'll be celebrating Mardi Gras. Yes, Fat Tuesday is already here, meaning one of the biggest celebrations of the year is upon us. Unfortunately, Mardi Gras has to fall on a weekday, and it's not considered a national holiday — so those of us who couldn't use a vacation day will be stuck at work, missing out on the parades, the food, and all of the beads in New Orleans, Louisiana. If you want to share your misery about having to work during one of the most fun celebrations of the year, post about it on Instagram — the one place you'll be able to share your misery with others who are feeling the same as you — and utilize some of these Mardi Gras Instagram captions that are perfect for using even if you're stuck at work. They all happen to capture the essence of what a wonderful celebration Mardi Gras is — and how much it sucks to miss out on it because of something like work. Ugh.

But hey, who says you have to actually be at the official Fat Tuesday celebration in New Orleans in order to jump in on the Mardi Gras hashtags and fun on Instagram? No one! And that's because you don't. You can celebrate the holiday while you're at work... kind of, anyway. Just get yourself a king cake from the bakery, some streamers to decorate your desk space with, a ton of food (preferably with cajun flavors, which are just delicious on any day), throw on some beads, to compliment your outfit, wear the colors of Mardi Gras (green, yellow, and purple), and have fun. While working, of course, because you know — you still have a job, even if it is Fat Tuesday. Maybe scroll through some Instagram posts during your lunch break to feel alive? And, even if you literally cannot celebrate at all, just imagine you're taking part in the festivities in your mind. It's fine. Imagination can be a very powerful thing. We've all been there!

If you're not sure what to caption your less than exciting working-during-Mardi-Gras photo — or your #TBT to a past Mardi Gras celebration when you were actually out in the world celebrating the holiday and having fun — I've got your back with some ideas you can start with. Here are a few Instagram captions about Mardi Gras that you can use even if you're stuck at work:
