For lovers of beauty, only sticking to one brand of makeup is pretty unrealistic. Take a look at most women's vanities and you'll find a collection of products — some high-end, some drugstore, and some in-between. If you fall into that category, then you have probably stocked up on at least one or two things from Amazon's beauty product page. It's such a convenient one-stop shop, and maybe that's why beauty product sales soared for Amazon in 2016. From nail polishes to brow products, there were some seriously popular beauty products on Amazon last year. In fact, Amazon may just be outpacing your local brick and mortar beauty store in terms of sales growth.
Fans of Amazon, however, won't be surprised that their growth in the beauty industry is impressive. With programs like Amazon Prime that allow free 2-day shipping, it's hard not to shop away on the site. According to One Click Retail (OCR), people definitely are. A recent study conducted by OCR found that while cosmetics still drive the overall beauty market, skin care has people going bananas on Amazon.
OCR explains that while high-end items are more popular in the general beauty market, that trend does not translate to Amazon beauty sales. Because of this, I'd guess that the best-selling Amazon beauty products are also some of the best, most affordable on the market. What does that mean? You should probably be shopping them.
