14 Genius Products That Make Shaving A Little Less Dreadful

by Emily Estep

Whether or not you choose to shave is up to you, we all have different preferences when it comes to our body hair. But there's one thing we can all agree upon: the act of shaving is the worst. That's why I'm always looking for genius hair removal products that make it suck just a little bit less.

With all the time it can take, the fear that you'll accidentally nick yourself, and the irritation that occurs afterward — especially in, ahem, more sensitive regions — it's no wonder why products that make shaving easier are so sought after.

I've personally been through the ropes and tried all the tricks for the perfect smooth bikini shave, only to be met with the gnarliest razor burn time after time. Everyone's skin is different, but for me, I've learned that a close shave with an electric trimmer is the way to go. I'm also a fan of disposable razors, especially in conjunction with a blade sharpener that can help you maximize their shelf life.

That said — bikini area or legs — there are countless products that make the process easier and the aftermath less painful, if you know where to look.

This Shave Gel That Doesn't Require Water

Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel, $15 (2 Pack), Amazon

With a showerless shave gel like this one, you can shave outside of the shower — which means you don't have to get wet, and you can do it on a moment's notice when you suddenly notice you missed a patch. Plus, it's an all-in-one product, functioning as a pre-shave softener, a shave gel, and a post-shave moisturizer. It'll prevent the razor burn one would normally associate with a dry shave!
