17 New England Patriots-Themed Super Bowl 2018 Food & Drink Ideas For Your Viewing Party

I have to make a confession: I'm not really a football fan. I'll sit on the couch for an hour or two and pretend to get involved with a game if it's on, but I'm certainly not planning my day around it — and I most definitely don't have the patience to sit through a full afternoon of NFL match-ups. What I can get behind is a Super Bowl party. If there are good snacks and good friends around, I'll gladly jump right on that football bandwagon. And whether you're a true fan or you're like me and only in it for the socializing, you can't show up empty-handed on Super Bowl Sunday. Here are 17 New England Patriots-themed Super Bowl 2018 food and drink ideas for those of you rooting for Tom Brady and his pals this weekend.

I did a little research on classic New England dishes and kept my eyes open for snacks in the red, white, and blue color palette, so you can feel good presenting any of these options to your fellow Pats fans come the big game on Feb. 4. My only concern? The recipes look so delicious that everyone might be too busy eating and drinking to tune in for JT's highly-anticipated halftime performance. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Blueberry Pie Bars

Fresh blueberries are a big New England export, but you can use frozen ones to make this dessert from Averie Cooks. They're the right color scheme too!

Spiked Mulled Cider

The Kitchn

Alcohol-free apple cider is the state beverage of New Hampshire, so it has some serious roots (pun intended!) in the New England region. This recipe for slow cooker spiked mulled cider from The Kitchn puts a boozy Super Bowl spin on the normally mellow drink.

Red, White, And Blue Cheesecake Bars

The nice thing about rooting for a team whose colors are red, white, and blue is that you can adopt any and all of the patriotic recipes typically reserved for the Fourth of July and use them on Super Bowl Sunday. Case in point? These festive cheesecake bars from Inside BruCrew Life.

Apple Cheddar Pies

How Sweet Eats

According to my sources (aka New England Today), apple pie with cheddar is a thing for New Englanders... and it actually sounds pretty delish! These individual pies from How Sweet Eats are perfect for a party.

Pepperoni Pizza Baked Beans

Averie Cooks

Baked beans are a Boston signature, and this pepperoni pizza take on them from Averie Cooks just screams "Super Bowl!" to me. You can even skip the late night pizza delivery and eat these leftovers instead.

Potato Chip Crusted Chicken Tenders

Simply Scratch

Chicken tenders are pretty much the best thing to happen to party food ever, but if you use Cape Cod chips to make this recipe from Simply Scratch, you'll also be putting a New England-y spin on things for the big game.

Fluffernutter Cupcakes

How Sweet Eats

Hey, I'll take fluffernutter any day — but if Super Bowl Sunday gives me an excuse to sample these treats from How Sweet Eats, I'm all for it!

Frozen Blueberry Margaritas

Cookie and Kate

Cookie and Kate makes blueberries boozy with this cocktail recipe that I just might keep in my back pocket even when it's not the Super Bowl.

Bourbon Maple Baked Beans

Averie Cooks

The perfect combination of baked beans (a Boston fave), maple (a classic New England flavor), and bourbon (football!), this recipe from Averie Cooks should be a major crowd pleaser. Slow cooker dishes like this are perfect for Super Bowl parties too, because you can easily leave them for people to serve themselves!

Boston Cream Cupcakes

Brown Eyed Baker

The name of this cupcake recipe from Brown Eyed Baker says it all. You could get the same effect from picking up a box of Boston cream donuts on your way to watch the game, but you'll feel like a star if you whip up this perfect combo of vanilla cupcake, pastry cream, and chocolate ganache all on your own.

New England Clam Chowder

Damn Delicious

Nothing says "New England" like a nice bowl of chowdah. Follow the easy instructions from Damn Delicious to make it in the slow cooker, toss some oyster crackers on the table, and you're ready to go.

Whoopie Pies

Brown Eyed Baker

Whoopie pies — also known as "Classic Gobs" by Brown Eyed Baker — are the state treat of Maine, according to State Symbols USA. Dye the marshmallow fluff filling red or blue to show your Pats support.

Crab Cake Sliders

The Comfort of Cooking

We're still a few months away from prime season for fresh seafood, but if you've ever been to New England, you know that they're pros when it comes to crab cakes. These slider versions from The Comfort of Cooking will be a hit at your Super Bowl get together.

Honey Whiskey Lemonade

The Little Epicurean

Per New England Today, frozen lemonade is a Rhode Island classic. It might still be a little chilly for that (in my humble opinion, at least), but this cocktail from The Little Epicurean will ensure that lemonade is represented in your Super Bowl bar.

Franks And Beans

Joy The Baker

If you haven't had your fill of beans recipes yet, check out this hearty dish from Joy The Baker. You'll get thick cut bacon, as an added bonus.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

The Kitchn

They may be the most commonplace dessert in the game, but did you know that (according to New England Today) the very first chocolate chip cookie was invented in the 1930s in Massachusetts? Celebrate that New England heritage with this cookie recipe from The Kitchn. You can even add a few drops of blue or red food coloring for some Patriots team spirit.

Red, White, And Blue Layered Drinks

Brown Eyed Baker

The trick to making a layered drink like this, according to Brown Eyed Baker, is sugar! Ingredients with higher sugar content are poured in first so they sink to the bottom, creating an awesome red, white, and blue effect. The existing recipe is alcohol-free, but I don't see why you couldn't add in some gin or vodka so it packs an extra punch.
