Twitter Users Are Revealing Their Best Attributes & It'll Make You Feel Pretty Awesome Too
The world can be a dark place. With the 24 hour news cycle feeding us the absolute worst of humanity and strangers on social media criticizing our every move, it's easy to forget about the good stuff. Enter the trending hashtag #TheBestThingAboutMeIs, which encourages folks to take a second to shout out their awesomest attributes. Sure it's a small act, but every little bit counts, right?
Like many people (except for our president, obvs), I've struggled with low self-esteem. Back in high school, I remember one teacher on the first day of school asking us to say our names and reveal what our favorite thing about ourselves was. As we went around the room, it was easy to see that more than half of my peers were uncomfortable speaking publicly and positively about their personalities, their accomplishments, or their bodies. One girl said her favorite thing about herself was her name, I picked my tattoos, and except for a few guys who seemed well-adjusted (go figure), the rest of us clearly weren't having it.
