Celebs Reveal Their Latest Binge-Worthy Obsessions
Celebrity or not, binge-watching will get the best of a person. I know from experience. Although binge-watching has become America's favorite pastime, I'd assume that most celebrities don't have schedules that allow them to marathon TV shows, like, say, someone working a 9-to-5. But as it turns out, they too make the time. In celebration of the first year the MTV Awards honored both movies and TV shows, I took to the red carpet to see what the celebs have been enthusiastically binging these days.
From Everything, Everything's Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson to couple Brett Dier and Haley Lu Richardson, the celebs have preferences all over the map that make for some great recommendations. They give shout outs to thrillers like Stranger Things, 13 Reasons Why, and Riverdale, while also mentioning reality TV shows and beloved sitcoms. (And no, those who are actors didn't pick their own shows.)
Bing-watching often gets a bad rap, but as these celebrities prove, it really shouldn't. It's the perfect escape for anyone, regardless of what their schedules are like or what their TV show preferences may be. In short: No one's alone. Here's what the celebrities have been marathon-watching these days.
1. Amandla Stenberg
"The Eric Andrew Show. I love that man."
2. Nick Robinson
"The last show that I binge-watched was The Night Of. It was really good, I watched that a lot. I just really liked how tense it was, it just kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time."
3. Haley Lu Richardson
"The Office, [Brett and I] are doing now. I watch Nashville and Grey's Anatomy like no other."
4. Brett Dier
"Daredevil, The Office. One-Punch Man, have you heard of this? It's Japanese animation and it's incredible. It's on Netflix. That's all you need."
5. Holland Roden
"Kill me for it, but I love the Kardashians. I do. I am obsessed with The Partridge Family, I love any idea of a family working together. To build an empire in Calabasas is not easy. Kris Jenner has managed to do it and there's a lot of negativity around it, but I genuinely think that it's amazing they make Hollywood their family business. That's pretty incredible. I love them. I see how she loves her children and there is a thing about it being overexposed but I don't think they mean it that way."
6. Victor Cruz
"I'm not even shameless about it, it's 13 Reasons Why. 48 hours I was in and out. All my friends kept telling me about it, I was like, 'I gotta see what all the hoopla's about.' Once I was in the middle of it, it was just like, I understand. I get what all the hoopla's about. It's so relevant to this day in age, bullying and what high schools are like, and what people are really facing nowadays. In high school I was an athlete, so we never really bullied, but I could see how there are people that we might have said something to that made them feel a certain way, that in hindsight, you're like, 'Wow, probably shouldn't have said that.'"
7. Isabela Moner
"There are so many. I gotta say New Girl, I love Zooey Deschanel and everything she does, as well as Grace and Frankie. Netflix and Hulu are my sh*t."
8. Anastasia Karanikolaou
"I watched Stranger Things, I literally finished it in one day. I've been really binge-watching Riverdale. I'm obsessed. It's kind of weird. It's creepy. I just found out who the killer was and it's really just insane. I'm a Netflix queen."
These celebs prove there's something for everyone and one's binge-watching habits should be really be embraced. Netflix and chilling for the rest of the day.
