In 2015, Fortune called Muslim women the "next untapped fashion market". Since then, modest fashion have captured the sartorial world by storm — Mango dropped a Ramadan capsule collection, models are wearing hijabs down the runway and Muslim fashion bloggers have established a cushy niche in the blogosphere.
The fashion scene is teeming with blogger mainstays like Aimee Song and Chiara Ferragni, but what about Muslim style stars? Muslim bloggers are proof that faith and style can co-exist harmoniously, rocking threads from edgy streetwear to modern elegance (plus, everyone's layering game is on point and makes me re-evaluate my ability to re-create anything similar). It is fascinating to see every blogger's unique take on modest wear and how they harness the power of accessorizing.
It's only time before Muslim fashion bloggers make the complete transition into the mainstream fashion realm, and frankly, I cannot wait for the very day. As a blogger myself, I'm stoked to see the community expand with fresh new voices. Sit back, relax and get your reading fix with these up-and-coming Muslim style bloggers.
1. Sania Siddiqui (Simply Covered)
Sania Siddiqui is not only the definition of Cool Mom, but she is the queen of layering — think lots of duster coats and shirt dresses mixed with casual sneakers.
2. Hanyeh Khoshnevisan (Hani Hulu)
Iranian-born Hanyeh "Hani" Khoshnevisan grew up as a tomboy before catching the sartorial bug. Now, her wardrobe is brimming with striking patterns and luxe textures — how's that for a fashion 360?
3. Samantha Elauf Mustapha (Samantha Iman)
Samantha Elauf Mustapha has mastered the art of '90s grunge — distressed denim, faux fur and graphic tees all the way (plus, her lipstick colors are my everything).
4. Fatima (All Things Fatima)
Take a peek at Fatima's closet and you'll find a fusion of minimal threads and casual streetwear. Right up my alley!
5. Sally Ashour (Sally Ashour)
Meet Sally Ashour — tastemaker, traveler and ultimate style icon. She isn't afraid to play with sequins and at the same time go laidback in a moto jacket and frayed denim. Versatility is key after all.
6. Zara Zi (Zara Zi)
I think I will forever associate Zara Zi with dreamy pastels and nude hues. If you're anything like me and rarely wear black, this is your go-to gal for outfit inspo.
7. Summer Albarcha (Summer Albarcha)
What originally began as a modest St. Louis teen fashion blog is now an internationally beloved style destination. Summer Albarcha nails everything, from tropical vacation outfits to trendy city ensembles.
8. Halima Chowdhury (Miss Little Fancy)
Hailing from across the pond, Halima Chowdhury is not only a blogger, but a student at London College of Fashion. Her aesthetic is all about simplicity and solid colors — contemporary cool at its finest.
9. Modesty Off The Runway (Modesty Off The Runway)
Modesty Off The Runway proves that everything is better in twos — their styles are all about raw denim, oversized tees and flannel with pops of patterns (and can we also take a moment to admire the editorial-esque photography?)
Here's to the next crop of Muslim fashion bloggers that will make waves in the fashion scene.
