A Fire At Hillary Clinton’s House Has Broken Out & Firefighters Are Responding

Police confirmed there was a fire at Bill and Hillary Clinton's home in Chappaqua, New York, on Wednesday. While authorities have declined to give further details at this time, Lohud, a news source for the Lower Hudson area, reported that scanner reports indicate the fire began in the bedroom. It's since been extinguished and no injuries were reported.

The Clintons purchased the home at 15 Old House Lane in 1999 for $1.7 million, according to Business Insider. Now, the house is worth more than $2.5 million. In her book, What Happened, Hillary wrote about how much she loves her home in upstate New York. "As often as we can, we arrange my schedule so I can sleep in my own bed in Chappaqua," she wrote, adding that "waking up at home is the best."

Hillary said that the reason they purchased the home was because she and Bill "loved the bedroom. It's one and a half stories high with a vaulted ceiling and windows on three sides. When we first saw it as prospective home buyers, Bill said that we would always wake up happy here, with the light streaming in and the view of the garden around us. He was right."

Neither Hillary nor Bill have said anything about the fire since the news broke. The day before the incident, Hillary was working to save funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program, which the Trump administration plans to let expire in March. "Time to bring CHIP to the Senate floor as promised," Hillary tweeted. "This alleged extension until March doesn’t cut it as states freeze enrollment [and] send out letters warning that coverage will end. This is frightening to parents [and] wreaks havoc for states."

On Wednesday, it was unclear if anyone was home at the time of the house fire. Police said they received the initial report of the fire at 2:51 p.m., and it was extinguished at 3:17 p.m. WABC-TV reporter Marcus Solis shared a photo of the scene, showing emergency responders outside the 19th-century home. "Multiple crews on the scene," News12's Nadia Galindo tweeted along with another image of ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles.

Some of Hillary's critics are using this house fire as an opportunity to attack her, as trolls tend to do with personal tragedies. "Fire at the Clintons' house in Chappaqua, NY," someone tweeted. "Apparently, Hillary has more evidence to destroy." Another Make America Great Again account tweeted, “Burning evidence this time! Only way to stop the Clintons is to lock them up, Jeff Sessions."

Not to mention, the conspiracy theories are already beginning to take root. "First, I hope all souls are safe," someone tweeted, "but it strikes me as just a little suspicious that a fire might break out at an estate guarded by the Secret Service — perhaps they ran out of bleachbit?" BleachBit is a software cleans your computer disk space.

Other troll accounts are already speculating about what the cause of the fire could be. "Fire reported at the Clintons' home in a bedroom in Chappaqua," @TruthInGov2016 tweeted. "Let the speculation begin..... I’ll go first. Prostitutes dropped the crack pipe, igniting the bedding." Considering how out-of-hand the Pizzagate conspiracy theory got, who knows how many false stories will come from this fire?

In the hours following the fire, the actual source of what caused the incident was still not disclosed by authorities, who remained at the scene, and it was unclear if the Clintons were in the house.
