Gorgeous. That's pretty much the most effective word to describe all the looks at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards. This particular awards show is nowhere near as fancy as the Grammys or the Golden Globes — the powers-that-be give out giant surfboards instead of handheld statues, making the TCAs so much fun and totally chill.
Since the event takes place during the sweltering heat of the summer, celebs were able to serve up super glamsual attire instead of rocking couture gowns. There were lots of pants and pantsuits — most of them cropped but some of them floor-skimming and flared. There were also loads of short hems on skirts, prints, and pops of color at this year's ceremony. I also noticed an '80s vibe.
From Zendaya strutting her stuff in an ensemble that was basically luxe pajamas look to Vanessa Hudgens rocking shiny, cropped, pale pink pants to Lucy Hale mixing prints and colors to the ladies Fifth Harmony going with clingy attire, the fashions at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards were absolutely head-turning.
The clothes were good enough to make us get over Miley Cyrus being a last-minute no-show.
Here is a visual recap of all of the looks from the 2017 Teen Choice Awards. Enjoy a scroll through the outfits and see if you can pick a favorite.
Zendaya's pajama pantsuit had pockets and sparkles. Yep, she slayed.
Cut outs reigned supreme among the Pretty Little Liars cast. Janel Parish went with a clingy white frock in the perfect shade of summer white and with criss-crossing in the bodice, while Hale mixed prints with brocade styling.
Fifth Harmony were so in step, despite each member having a unique cut, color, and silhouette with her outfit. Cropped skinnies, an extreme flared leg, and adventurous colors — it just worked in, well, fashion "harmony." Sorry, not sorry.
V. Hudge also went with cropped pants, albeit in a shiny fabric and with a print. Her belt had me wondering what, exactly, it was. It had a Hello Kitty shape. Or was that a heart?
Millie Bobby Brown opted for a summer-appropriate, lemon yellow frock with chunky, multi-color shoes. The shades were perfectly TCAs, as well.
Style star Rita Ora rocked an athleisure-inspo one-piece during her performance. It reminded me of an '80s astronaut uniform.
Singer Bebe Rexha wore a tuxedo-like outfit with wide-leg pants and white accents. Because volume.
Pants were popular. Former Glee star Naya Rivera offered her take on the Canadian tuxdeo, which is an all-denim ensemble. Her overall presentation had an '80s vibe, thanks to those poufy sleeves. But it enjoyed a bit of a modern touch thanks to the distressed knee.
Dancer Maddie Ziegler hit on several of the evening's trends — cropped pants, puffed sleeves, brocade-like print, and a belly-baring top. Her sleek 'n' chic, mega shiny strands were done by hairstylist and ghd Brand Ambassador Justine Marjan.
Candace Cameron Bure aka DJ Tanner from Full House was on trend with her cropped pants, albeit of the leather variety; they are from designer Marissa Webb's pre-fall 2017 collection. The material provided an edgy counterbalance to her frilly top.
Bella Thorne also selected cropped leather pants and a cloak, with a black bralette by MESHKI. Her two-toned pink hair was er'thing.
