You Should Stay For The 'GOTG Vol. 2' Post-Credits Scenes

by Allie Gemmill

Far and away one of the most curious aspects of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 are the post-credits scenes. There's not one, not two, and no, not even three post-credits scenes attached to this sequel. There are five. Given that it's probably going to be a bit of time commitment, you're probably wondering if it's worth it to watch all five GOTG post-credits scenes? I can safely say that it is definitely worth your time.

First off, how could you for even think that five post-credits scenes wouldn't be worth your time? C'mon now. To be blessed with five post-credits scenes is such a rare and unique thing to occur, especially with an MCU film; why would you ever want to leave early? GOTG is trying to give you all the good Easter eggs and extraneous jokes, fam. Let them do it.

The reason these five post-credits scenes are worth your time is primarily because this is an unheard of thing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's traditional for a Marvel film to have one post-credits scene; fans always expect at least one good tease at the end of an MCU film. That why, at first blush, it feels like GOTG really overshot it here by going for five scenes. Is it possible to have too much of a good thing?

Without giving anything away, it would appear that there's a growing curiosity around those scenes. What could GOTG possibly have to tease that would merit five separate scenes? Are they all connected? Are they all full of Easter eggs? It would seem that the scenes are a mixed bag of treats, proving to be worth the slog through the credits. Basically, stay planted like Groot once the credits start to roll.

All I know is that if GOTG director James Gunn is commanding you to stay planted for the post-credits scene no matter what, then you should probably listen. I think it's definitely a sign that great things are awaiting us MCU fans in those scenes.
