No one wants to waste a great dress. Whether it's your favorite little black dress or that glittering frock you wore last New Year's Eve, don't let that dream dress go. One SAG Award attendee certainly didn't. Beanie Feldstein wore her prom dress to the 2018 SAG Awards, and it's honestly so relatable.

Now, some prom dresses are probably better left in the closet, and of course, there's always the option of donating to those looking for gowns. Feldstein, however, held on to her dress according to People. The Lady Bird star explained to the magazine that she loved the dress (which she wore to prom with non other than Dear Evan Hansen's Ben Platt), and it's for good reason. The deep v-neck gown with thick straps and a flowing a-line skirt looked gorgeous on Feldstein. Paired with her side-swept waves, it was a totally classic look for the actor.

Feldstein walked the carpet with her mother as part of the cast of Lady Bird. She's nominated with the rest of her cast for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. She was joined by fellow actors and nominees Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, and Laurie Metcalf and director Greta Gerwig. While everyone appeared on the carpet looking perfect, no one was quite as relatable as Feldstein.

In an interview with The Cut, Feldstein explained that it was her mom and her mom's best friend that encouraged her to wear her prom dress. She said, "It’s just a gorgeous dress, and I love how my character’s story ends at the prom, so like, for the first time I’m going to an awards show as a nominee with the cast, it’s like, You gotta wear your prom dress, girl, and honor Julie.”

Of course, Feldstein isn't alone in recycling dresses. Even the royals do it. Kate Middleton has been known to rewear her dresses, and there's truly no reason not to do it. Why waste a gown that looks great?

As for the reaction to Feldstein's dress choice? Fans love it and her.

Lovers of the film are so emotional that she chose to do so in order to honor her Lady Bird character Julie.

Others simply asked, why not? And like, really? Why not?

Like truly, fans are emotional over this dress choice.

Some fans are seeking straight up bestie status with Feldstein, and can you blame them? Feldstein honoring her character at the SAG Awards via her dress choice makes total sense. She has been open about her adoration for the film and the creative forces behind it.

In a post to her Instagram account, Feldstein wrote, "This movie, this movie, this movie!! it has my heart. i still can't believe i am a part of it. greta and saoirse are the two most extraordinary women I've ever known. together they've captured the humanity of being a 17 year old girl. and all of the heartbreak and laughter and searching that comes with that. their heart and intellect fill every frame. i'm so proud to know and love them. go see @ladybirdmovie!"

Whether you personally loathe your high school prom dress, have it hanging in a shadow box because #nostalgia, or you trashed it a long time ago, Beanie Feldstein wearing her prom dress to the SAG Awards is a total moment.
