This is one talent who won't ever be forgotten, and the proof is on social media. Celebrities are honoring Chris Cornell with beautiful tributes. Based on their words, it's clear that the former Soundgarden and Audioslave lead singer left behind quite the legacy. His music and voice touched the lives of many.

UPDATE: According to the Associated Press, the medical examiner has determined that Cornell committed suicide by hanging. E! News reports that the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office further explained that "a full autopsy report has not yet been completed."

EARLIER: On Wednesday night, Cornell died at the age of 52, his rep, Brian Bumbery, confirmed to CNN. The Associated Press is reporting that Cornell's death is being investigated as a possible suicide. According to Bumbery, Cornell died sometime after performing with Soundgarden in Detroit Wednesday. "His wife Vicky and family were shocked to learn of his sudden and unexpected passing, and they will be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause," the statement released to CNN reads. "They would like to thank his fans for their continuous love and loyalty and ask that their privacy be respected at this time."

"Continuous love and loyalty" for Cornell is evident across social media. He brought so much to the industry and transformed music in amazing ways, especially during the early '90s. I know I'll never forget listening to Soundgarden's 1994 hit "Black Hole Sun" back in the day. He had such a unique voice, which, for me, made the song even more powerful.
