Chrissy Metz has received a lot of attention thanks to her breakout role in hit television show This Is Us, which means she'll be hitting red carpets throughout this awards season. Chrissy Metz's 2017 People's Choice Awards dress was perfect for the occasion, and very on trend for 2017.

Earlier in January at the Golden Globes, Metz got a lot of attention for not wearing one of the two custom Christian Soriano dresses that she had said she would be wearing to the event. Instead, she donned a purple velvet Nathan Paul dress to the event, looking like true royalty. Needless to say, expectations were set quite high for her 2017 People's Choice Awards dress, and she totally nailed it.

Two of 2017's biggest trends are floral embroidery and cold shoulder cutouts, so Metz really hit it on the head with her Eloquii dress with an embroidered navy skirt and silky bodice with a subtle shoulder cutout. Metz paired her glam gown with a small Gilt x Judith Leiber silver clutch, sleek hair, dangling diamond earrings and a thin silver necklace, both by Simon G. Jewelry.

This Is Us is nominated for Favorite New TV Drama for this year's People's Choice Awards, and even though it didn't win any Golden Globes, they are definitely one of the most talked about shows these days, and people just love the characters — and the actors who play them (aka Chrissy Metz).

Even if This Is Us doesn't win a People's Choice Award, Metz can rest easy knowing she'll at least be one of the best dressed.
