Donald Glover's involvement in Spiderman: Homecoming has been the subject of major speculation ever since his casting was announced. While many of us would still love to see the Community star take on a leading superhero role of his own, his part in the Spider-Man reboot has been kept largely under wraps. So, who is Glover playing in Spider-Man: Homecoming? There are several possibilities regarding who he could be, and fans are pretty desperate to find out what his role entails. So, let's consider the clues so far.

While Glover's Spider-Man: Homecoming role remains a mystery, there may be a major hint just unveiled. During a tour of Marvel Studios at Disney's Burbank on Monday with reporters, a daily featuring Glover showed the actor dressed in what looked like jeans and a t-shirt — no superhero garb for this guy. He was also seen dodging a blast from Shocker (played by Logan Marshall-Green in the film).

Now that we know Glover likely isn't a superhero, this can help narrow down the speculation. Perhaps he could be Robert Farrell or Robbie Robertson? These are two guesses, but not the only options. Plus, as revealed in this first look, Glover's character appears to be working alongside Marshall-Green's, which could be the biggest clue of all.

During the same tour mentioned above, it was confirmed that Marshall-Green is playing the role of Shocker in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Meanwhile, MCU Exchange previously reported receiving a tip from a source on the set who saw Marshall-Green's stand-in wearing a name tag saying "Brice," which they deduced as meaning he was playing Jackson “Montana” Brice, who is a member of The Enforcers, also known as Shocker. Could this mean that Glover is playing another member of The Enforcers, working alongside Shocker?

Robert Farrell

According to one fan theory on Reddit, Glover is playing a character named Farrell. The theory continues that Robert Farrell is Rocket Racer, and that Glover apparently looks a lot like him. Rocket Racer's skateboard is propelled by small rockets and cybernetics, but the sightings of Glover in Spider-Man: Homecoming footage don't back up this theory just yet.

Robbie Robertson

An editor at The Daily Bugle, Glover's Robbie Robertson could be investigating the numerous villains, including Shocker, that have emerged. Hence the ordinary clothing.

Max Modell

Max Modell seems like a real possibility, and this would make sense of Glover's character hanging around with Shocker. Max is the founder of Horizon Labs, and is seen as the kinder version of Tony Stark. A technology genius, he'd have the knowledge and resource needed to create some serious gadgets.

Clearly, the Spider-Man: Homecoming filmmakers are going to keep us guessing a little longer, as Glover claimed Big Boy TV in February, "I'm not even allowed to like leave my trailer without a hood on. So that people don't take pictures. It's serious, like I'm not allowed to say but it's a cool character." Hmm, his comment definitely suggests a superhero or villain costume he's keeping under wraps.
