Few trends have spread as rapidly through the Bustle offices as the '90s style resurgence. Whether millennials are nostalgic for their childhoods or have simply realized that '90s fashion is actually the best, the decade of Riot Grrrls and boy bands is alive, well, and walking the halls of Bustle headquarters. From overalls and platform sneakers to babydoll tees and denim skirts, no stone-washed jeans remain unturned.

We're partnering with Abercrombie & Fitch to focus on '90s denim in particular, to prove just how current (and versatile) the throwback staple can be. Tapping five of our most stylish editors to reinterpret '90s denim looks for themselves, we're getting all kinds of inspo on how to work the trend into any kind of personal style.

Sierra

Sierra's A&F style pick: Girlfriend Denim Jacket, $98, abercrombie.com.

Three words that describe your style right now: Laid-back, street style-inspired, versatile (I love pieces that can easily go from day to night).

Why did you pick this look? I picked this denim jacket because it's true to what I wear on a daily basis. I love classic, tried-and-true pieces that go with pretty much everything. Honestly, what doesn't look good with a jean jacket?

How are you wearing the '90s denim trend right now? There’s nothing I love more than pairing boxy denim jackets with mini dresses — it’s pretty much my favorite thing to wear.

How else might you style this piece? I would definitely wear this denim jacket with some work pants, a band tee, and some chunky black boots (aka my go-to outfit on most days)!

Bry

Bry's A&F syle pick: Ripped Slim Jeans, $88, abercrombie.com.

Three words that describe your style right now: Edgy, varied, and fun.

Why did you pick this look? I love the relaxed cut of these jeans and their cool, distressed vibe. They're also versatile, which is important for me in any piece of clothing.

How are you wearing the '90s denim trend right now? I was going for a cool L.A. Leo DiCaprio in Romeo + Juliet vibe with the tropical button-up and relaxed sneakers. I feel like it's a perfect mix of current and '90s.

How else might you style this piece? I would wear these with any classic tee or with a distressed lightweight sweater on those colder early spring days.

Elly

1 / 3

Elly's A&F style pick: Two-Tone Denim Mini Skirt, $58, abercrombie.com.

Three words that describe your style right now: Comfy, cool, and on-trend.

Why did you pick this look? I love color-blocked denim and am absolutely feeling the '90s resurgence, so packing that all into one two-toned denim skirt was my ultimate style match.

How are you wearing the '90s denim trend right now? I let my '90s-inspired pieces (like this denim skirt and platform sneaks) shine brightest, which means pairing them with a low-key tee and fun bag.

How else might you style this piece? I'd style this skirt in another way that calls attention to its streamlined silhouette — like contrasting the form-fitting shape with an oversized sweater.

Neelum

1 / 3

Neelum's A&F style pick: Ripped Boyfriend Overalls, $98, abercrombie.com.

Three words that describe your style right now: Comfy, trendy, laid-back.

Why did you pick this look? Overalls are so versatile, which I love. You can dress them up, dress them down, and change the look entirely depending on what you pair with them. They also make getting ready in the morning super easy.

How are you wearing the '90s denim trend right now? The '90s denim trend is my favorite. I always rock sneakers with a fun sock, and a bright sweater is the perfect way to dress up the outfit and add some color.

How else might you style this piece? I would chic it up with some cute heels and a button down, or even some espadrille sandals.

Jenna

1 / 3

Jenna's A&F style pick: High-Rise Ankle Straight Jeans, $88, abercrombie.com.

Three words that describe your style right now: Versatile, minimal, detail-oriented.

Why did you pick this look? I live in denim, and this pair has everything I look for for spring. I love a high-rise (hi, crop tops) and the cropped leg goes great with flats and sneakers. I also feel like a little ankle makes me look a bit taller (rare).

How are you wearing the '90s denim trend right now? I paired these with a silk short-sleeved button-up that ties at the waist. I think the material and pajama-y detailing make the denim feel more 2018 than 1994, and dresses them up just enough for work. The simple pointed flat is super comfortable and plays up that whole ankle-peep-show thing. My everyday jewelry is tiny gold things (mostly vintage) that I layer up to add a little something.

How else might you style this piece? These could literally go anywhere. I’ll wear these again with a cropped sweater or knotted vintage tee and a chunky-heeled ankle boot. Once it heats up a little I’ll wear these with fun crop tops and a platform sneaker.
