Ruth Negga & Dominic Cooper Have Staying Power
It's a sad but true fact in life: Dating is hard, and for celebrities, it must be even harder. Finding the time to develop a meaningful connection with someone, despite living in the spotlight and having two very different, busy schedules? It's difficult, but some couples just make it work. One of those couples? Ruth Negga and Dominic Cooper, who just seem so meant to be. It's hard to remember a time when they weren't a pair, but how long have Negga and Cooper been together?
According to Daily Mail, Negga and Cooper met in 2009 when they were working on Phédre, a play starring Helen Mirren, together. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when they got romantically involved after that, but assuming that it was around that time, that means that they should be celebrating their eighth anniversary very soon. Pretty impressive for two actors who have had incredibly busy careers recently, right? But despite that, Negga and Cooper are still going strong, and they've even managed to work together a few times since they met on stage.
Their most recent project? Right now, they are both starring in AMC's Preacher, where Negga and Cooper play Tulip and Jesse, two characters who, appropriately enough, are each other's exes.
And if you're looking for the more intimidate details about their relationship, you're out of luck. Negga and Cooper are pretty low key as a couple, even on social media. Occasionally, they'll be spotted out and about together, but they notoriously stay mum about their life together in interviews and in public, which is a shame because they're so adorable and I'm dying to know more about their relationship!
What Negga has said about working with Cooper? While talking to The Guardian last year, she did mention that when it comes to collaborating with a significant other, "I highly recommend it." Sounds like things are going very well!
Now, all I need to know is whether or not these two plan to tie the knot in 2017. But whether they decide on marriage or not, it's hard not to be happy for them. Fingers crossed their relationship only continues to grow — and that maybe, just maybe, Cooper decides to throw us some cute shots of him and Negga on his Instagram. Please?!
