How To Win A Valentine's Date With Idris Elba

So, you're saying there's a chance? Heartthrob actor Idris Elba revealed he's auctioning off a Valentine's Day date for charity, and I'm like, "Where do you sign up?" Hey, don't judge, I'm asking for a friend. Anywho, Elba's romantic V-Day gesture is part of a charity fundraising campaign, headed up by Omaze, in support of an effort by W.E. Can Lead to ensure that school girls in Sierra Leone are allowed an equal opportunity to receive a proper education. Isn't that just so sweet and thoughtful of him? Dude's just like the total package... or, so I've heard.

In order to raise funds for the project, Omaze is requesting nominal donations to earn entries into the date "contest." A $10 donation entitles you to 100 entries, a $25 donation earns 250, etc., with the winner later being randomly selected in a drawing. I mean, I suppose 10 bucks isn't going to break the bank, and it is going toward a good cause and all. After being chosen, the winner will be entitled to an evening on the town as a companion to the 44-year-old Englishman. Elba seductively explained in the super suggestive video promotion,

We’ll get things started off with cocktails or perhaps champagne. And once we’re feeling comfortable, we can order whatever your heart desires. Maybe some truffles, perhaps some steak, pepper soup and fufu.

The Luther star continued enticing hopeful fans and promised “you can whatever you want” for dessert. I'll just leave that info right there and let you check out the video for yourself.

So, I just came up with the most amazing idea – I'm going to enter my friend as a Valentine's Day surprise. It's the perfect gesture... I'm totally, I mean, she's totally free on Feb. 14 this year. I can't wait to see the look on her face, she's going to be so excited. Oh yeah, if you guys are interested in hanging out with Elba, or just want a chance to contribute to a good cause, you can enter too — if you want.
