Jenna Dewan & Channing Tatum’s 'Step Up' Audition Tape Is Unbelievably Cute

Step Up fans, this is for you. You need to see Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum's Step Up audition tape. Dewan was nice enough to share it with fans on her YouTube page Wednesday and it is everything and so much more. If you think they are a cute celebrity couple now, just wait until you see them 13 years ago awkwardly flirting, giggling, and staring into each other's eyes. Yeah, they were totally meant to be.

Dewan decided to share the tape in honor of YouTube's Step Up: High Water (writer: Holly Sorensen) TV series, which was released on Jan. 31. "It's really funny," she says before sharing the actual audition. "It’s really cute, and also embarrassing, and crazy, but of course I want to share it with all of you, because, why not? You should all see my most embarrassing moment too. Please watch how many times I giggle and I laugh and it’s very cute."

It also means the world to Dewan, who says, "It’s very sentimental and amazing for me to watch, and I hope you guys all enjoy it." Well, fans of Step Up (director: Anne Fletcher) and anyone who ships the couple will love every second of it.

The brief audition tape shows them salsa dancing and Dewan being surprised by how great of a dancer Tatum actually is. "Oh, stop it right now," she says to Tatum. "You said, 'I don’t know how to dance!' That was actually pretty good!" The Magic Mike XXL (associate producer: Elaine Mongeon) star twirls her around some more, and, yes, Dewan can't help but giggle throughout.

The best part, though, is around the 2-minute mark where they both say "hi" to each other. The way they look at each other's eyes, well, you can tell that there is an attraction. Their introduction really is the cutest.

Dewan also took to Twitter Thursday, where she tweeted the audition, and wrote, "Celebrating the kick off of @StepUpSeries on @YouTube Red by sharing my first audition for @StepUpMovie! Old school dancing, non stop giggling and prom poses by @ChanningTatum and me. The beginning of so many amazing things in my life!"

They pretty much fell in love at first sight on the set of the 2006 hit film. As Dewan dished to Ellen DeGeneres in August 2017, "I said, 'Well look, if you want to date other people and be free that’s totally fine. But we’re not gonna hang out and watch movies. You have to figure out what you want because I know I want to be in a relationship.'"

Then, it was after Tatum partook in a "crazy" tequila-filled night out with some fellow Step Up dancers that he realized he wanted to be with Dewan. According to Dewan, he showed up at her hotel room banging on the door wearing nothing but a sombrero, underwear, and Ugg boots. "He said he had the chance to be free and he couldn’t stop thinking about me," she told DeGeneres. Then, he said to her, "Let’s do this."

Dewan didn't stop there, and also told the daytime talk show host, "It’s even worse because the next morning he was in my room and I go to set because I had an earlier call time. I’m getting hair and makeup done and an hour goes by and the [production assistants] go, 'We can’t find Channing. We don’t know where he is. He’s not in his room. We’ve banged on his door and called his room.'" Well, Dewan had to awkwardly call a PA over and said, "He’s in my room."

From that moment on, Dewan said they were a couple. They've been together for over 13 years and married for eight. Their love story truly is unforgettable and now fans can see how it all began in the audition tape. They basically had each other at "hi".
