Jillian Harris & Justin Pasutto Are Engaged As 'The Bachelorette' Star Celebrates Christmas
While everyone awoke to open presents on Christmas morning, former Bachelorette Jillian Harris received a special gift. According to a post on her Instagram account, Jillian Harris and Justin Pasutto are engaged! On Dec. 25, Harris posted a cozy photo of her, Pasutto, their son Leo, and their two dogs with the caption: "Well THAT was SOME Christmas morning!!!!!” she wrote. “OH MY GOD my heart cannot handle this much LOVE! [Justin] you’ve made me the HAPPIEST girl in the world.” She added the hashtag "#ISimplyAskedForOneThingForChristmas" and, if you look closely at the snap, you can see Harris' engagement ring.
Passutto posted the same photo on his Instagram account with the caption: "Merry Christmas from the Pasutto's! ... at least soon to be [ring emoji]." It's a very sweet moment for the couple, who shared news of their pregnancy and the birth of their son Leo earlier this year. According to her blog, Harris and Passutto have been together for four years and they decided to try for a baby last year. "I was 32 when we met, and Justin was a fresh ripe 24," she wrote. "Our age difference was never really an issue for us, our love was always strong and very real and that’s all that mattered."
In 2009, Harris finished in the final three on Jason Mesnick's season of The Bachelor and went on to get engaged to Ed Swiderski on her season of The Bachelorette. According to a People interview from earlier this year, Harris said she and Swiderski broke up after she later found out that he had been allegedly cheating on her.
But Harris told People she learned a lot from the experience and The Bachelorette. "I look back now, and I understand that relationships are really difficult," she said in the interview. "People annoy you, they frustrate you and they hurt you, and sometimes they don’t mean to hurt you. I’ve seen the highs and lows. I’m more realistic now."
And now, Harris has found happiness with Pasutto in what looks like a lovely Christmas engagement.
