Kate McKinnon's career continues its stratospheric trajectory with news that she's in talks to star in a new action comedy called The Spy Who Dumped Me. According to Deadline, Lionsgate is in the process of casting the movie, which will begin shooting this summer. The Spy Who Dumped Me will follow McKinnon and Mila Kunis, a pair of best friends who get mixed up in a major international conspiracy when one discovers her recent ex-boyfriend is a spy. Kunis and McKinnon will make an amazing team in the comedy, as both are so sardonic and well-versed in physical comedy.

Alongside her impressive Saturday Night Live stint, McKinnon has recently appeared on the big screen in Office Christmas Party, and stars in the forthcoming Rough Night, alongside Scarlett Johansson. Following her breakout role in Ghostbusters, McKinnon is in demand and rightly so — she's awesome. It's more than a little exciting that she's being offered lead movie roles, and she seems to be following in the footsteps of fellow SNL alums and Ghostbusters co-stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy.

Kunis starred in the 2016 hit Bad Moms, making her the perfect partner in crime for McKinnon, as their acting styles and penchant for dark comedy will totally complement one another.

The script has been co-written by Susanna Fogel, who wrote and directed the super cute rom-com-slash-buddy movie Life Partners starring Leighton Meester, Gillian Jacobs, and Adam Brody. Under Fogel's direction, McKinnon and Kunis will make the best onscreen partners and they're sure to have tons of chemistry.

The movie hasn't even started shooting yet, so fans of McKinnon and Kunis will have to be extremely patient. However, The Spy Who Dumped Me sounds like it'll be well worth the wait.
