Kim Kardashians Shares An Adorable Video For Mother's Day

Kim Kardashian celebrated Mother's Day a little early this year by sharing a gift with all of her fans: a home video compilation of her own mom, Kris Jenner, pre-Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Kardashian posted the video to her website on Friday with a sweet message about her mom. The video really is an adorable throwback, and it shows a side of Jenner that we don't see much anymore.

Posting on kimkardashianwest.com, Karadashian wrote this message to her mama:

Mom, thank you for always being here and being my best friend. I love you so much and I'm so grateful for all that you've done for me over the years.

It's clear from 13 seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians (holy crap) that Jenner is very close to all of her children — there are so many of them! — even if she does drive them crazy sometimes and vice versa. But the Kardashian-Jenner fam have been through some Real Stuff over the years, and Jenner, however wacky she may be, has been a rock in the family.

This home video that her daughter shared (which can be watched in full on her site; a preview is below) is a sweet portrait of Jenner back in the days before she was a momager and was just a mom, and it's very 1980s-1990s chic. There's super cute shots of Kardashian and her sister Kourtney in Halloween costumes in their driveway, Jenner celebrating Kardashian's sweet 16 in a very '90s white blazer, and her celebrating a surprise party that her friends threw her on an airplane. She has the most feathered bangs possible, and it's perfect. The last shot shows Jenner very pregnant (though it's unclear who's coming out of there).

It's nice to see Jenner as just a mom who wants her kids to sing for home videos and goof around with her friends. Not to say Jenner isn't still goofy —she has some of the most hilarious moments on KUWTK. (How can anyone forget, "Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself? Your sister's going to jail"?) But hyper-fame brings its own unique trials and tribulations, like having the world watch your divorce and defending yourself against your ex's book, and your son-in-law being Kanye West. I'm guessing the young mom with feathery bangs never thought that would be her life.

But, if anything, she's proven she knows a thing or six about motherhood, with all those girls and also Rob. And now, five grandchildren. But Jenner has proven time and again on the show and on social media that she takes her haters' criticism with a grain of salt and is able to laugh it off, and that kind of fun-loving attitude is apparent even in this super early video that Kardashian posted. And, of course, there's a shot of Jenner with a glass of champagne in her hands, because when you're as busy as she is, you could always use a drink.
