Have you heard the good news? Actually, I think the word “good” is toning down the utter excitement that I’m experiencing after hearing about this new collaboration between Krispy Kreme and Ghirardelli. Yes, it’s exactly what you think — Krispy Kreme and Ghirardelli doughnuts are now a thing, and you can buy them beginning Apr. 3. Run, don’t walk, to the nearest Krispy Kreme in town. Even if Krispy Kreme is hours away — it's totally worth it for one of these bad boys.

Now here’s the scrumptious details of the collaboration. Krispy Kreme released two new doughnut flavors that are inspired by two iconic Ghirardelli chocolate squares: Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel and Chocolate Mint. Each doughnut is put together with premium Ghirardelli ingredients (the fillings and icing) that reflect the flavors and taste of these popular candy squares.

The Sea Salt Caramel Doughnut is filled with salted caramel filling, dipped in chocolate, and drizzled with both chocolate and caramel icings. It is then sprinkled with a blend of amber sugar, salt, and yes, mini Ghirardelli chocolate chips. Yum.

The Mint Chocolate Doughnut is filled with a White Mint Kreme, dipped in chocolate icing, and drizzled with a green colored icing. This doughnut is a bit different, with sprinkled Ghirardelli mint chocolate chips and dusted powdered sugar. Double yum.

Obviously these delicious doughnut creations are the ultimate definition of “Instagram-worthy,” and these two companies want to see you enjoying their delicious creations. You can share what they are calling their “OMGhirardelli Moment” online with the hashtags #OhSoFancy and #KrispyKreme.

As you currently salivate all over your laptop or mobile device, you can find a participating Krispy Kreme near you on their website.

Although I still recommend grabbing those cute chocolate squares by the fistful the next time you’re at a Ghirardelli store, if you’re nowhere close to a Ghirardelli store, then head to Krispy Kreme for what’s probably about to be the best thing for all of mankind. (Except for those of you who are gluten-free...I am so terribly sorry for your loss.)
